The Harrison Weather Center was established on January 28, 1982 and is the official weather station for the Town of Harrison. The Harrison Weather Center is also an official cooperative weather station for the National Weather Service and also the weather consultant for the County of Hudson, Office of Emergency Management, Town of Kearny, City of Jersey City and McCabe Ambulance in Bayonne, NJ. The Harrison Weather Center has also been recognized by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and given a special service award in 2001. This award was presented by the local NWS Weather Forecast Office in Mount Holly, NJ and Upton, New York in 2002. The Harrison Weather Center was given the Environmental Hero Award. The National Award was also given by the NOAA National Weather Service.
