On February 9 at 2AM, Officer Al Pearson was patrolling near Third Street when he noticed a vehicle traveling extremely slowly and barely able to stay in a lane of traffic. He conducted a motor vehicle stop and interviewed the driver as Office Kirk Zeta arrived to assist. Observing that the driver was obviously intoxicated, he requested he exit the vehicle. The driver, 46 from Kearny, nearly fell out of the vehicle. He was unable to safely complete roadside tests, was arrested and transported to headquarters. Breath testing revealed he was almost three times the legal limit of .08% BAC. He was charged with DWI and processed.
