Although the concept was utilized here several years ago, with the recent hiring of new police officers in addition to the anticipation of additional personnel being added to the department in the not too distant future, I have again implemented our Community Policing Unit. The CPU has hit the ground running. You have probably seen our officers at the functions honoring our War Veterans, various school and cultural events, parades and most prominently at National Night Out. I pride myself in being actively involved in what happens in our community, to the point that you'll likely see me walking the streets of Harrison meeting with residents, business owners and community leaders. We, as a police department need to maintain approachability with those who live, work, worship and visit here. In addition we have added a full time School Resource Officer who is assigned to our schools. Along with this officer two SLEO III’s have been added to our ranks and one more will be with us for the start of the school year in the fall. These specially trained officers will be keeping our schools safe throughout the school year. I am committed to ensure that the positive working relationship between the community and the Harrison Police Department remains my priority. To contact the CPU directly please use the email hpdcpu@townofharrison.com and a member of this unit will respond to you promptly.
