FREE PARKING AT THE HARRISON PARKING GARAGE FROM NOW UNTIL NOON ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 28TH

This is a message from Mayor James A. Fife and the Harrison Town Council.
As you know, Winter Storm Elliot is bringing the potential for flooding in Hudson County, including here in Harrison.
The Harrison Police Department will be closing some low-lying streets starting tonight.
We urge all residents to remove their automobiles from flood-prone areas in Town. To facilitate this, from now until Noon on Wednesday, December 28th, the Harrison Parking Garage next to the PATH Station will be open free of charge. No parking tickets will be issued, just drive in and follow the signs to park inside the Garage.
Again, parking at the Harrison Parking Garage is free from now until Noon on Wednesday, December 28th.

This Notice will also be posted on the Town website’s homepage at www.townofharrisonnj.com.

ACCELERATED TAX SALE 2022
ACCELERATED TAX SALE 2022
As of the 11th day of November, 2022 unpaid taxes, interest and other Municipal charges for the current year are eligible for tax sale. Unpaid taxes, interest and other Municipal charges become a lien. The Collector shall enforce the lien through a publicly held tax sale. The tax sale will be held in the Municipal Council Chambers on December 15, 2022 at 11:00 am.
All bidders must pre-register and provide a W-9 both with original signatures to the Tax Collector’s Office. Make sure all information on the registration sheet is correct and how you would want it on the tax sale certificate.
Properties included in the tax sale will be advertised in the Jersey Journal newspaper on December 1st and December 8th, 2022. The list will also be posted on this website. If a property is included in our tax sale, a lien will be placed against it. You must contact our office for a redemption statement.
If you have a mortgage company escrowing taxes, contact them immediately regarding delinquencies.

All bidder’s must be pre-registered to enter the building. Registration must be submitted by December 14th. At this time, the Tax Sale will be held inside the Municipal Council Chambers.

ATTENTION HARRISON RESIDENTS - WATER ADVISORY
ATTENTION HARRISON RESIDENTS:
Due to a 72” water main break in Nutley, our wholesale water supplier, Passaic Valley Water Commission, is supplying water to other municipalities, which in turn causes our pressure to be reduced. We may also experience slightly discolored water.
Any customers who encounter water discoloration are advised to run their cold water taps, flushing the pipes until the water runs clear.
There are no other advisories associated with this repair, and we thank you for your patience and cooperation.

The Harrison Health Department will be giving the flu vaccines to Harrison residents at the Community Center, located at 401 Warren Street, on Wednesday, October 12th, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. ID is required.

NORTH HUDSON COMMUNITY ACTION CORPORATION WILL BE DISTRIBUTING MONKEYPOX VACCINES STARTING AUGUST 10
The North Hudson Community Action Corporation will be distributing Monkeypox vaccines starting August 10th in East Newark and Kearny.

GRAND OPENING OF THE NEW MULTI-FIELD COMPLEX (LITTLE LEAGUE)
The Recreation Department will have the grand opening of the new Multi-Field Complex (Little League) on Sunday, April 10th.
- The Ribbon Cutting will take place at 1:00 pm
- The Soccer game will start at 2:00 pm

FREE PARKING AT HARRISON PARKING DECK END'S FEBRUARY 2nd AT 11 PM
This is a reminder that applications for 2022 Resident Parking Permits are still being accepted. Expired 2021 Permits will be honored until February 28th.
Residents can download an application from the Town website or obtain one from the Drop-Box at the Police Department entrance. Completed applications can be emailed or placed in the Drop-Box. Once approved, new Permits for 2022 will be mailed out via the US Postal Service.
Also, free parking at the Harrison Parking Deck next to the PATH Station for snow removal will end tomorrow, February 2nd at 11PM. Any cars parked after that time will have to pay the regular rate to exit.
